Meet Ire Flanagan
I’ve been blessed to have been artistically inclined all of my life.
When I was in my late teens, I remember hanging out in the front room with my dad. I showed him something I drew, and he told me that he seriously thought I would make a good tattoo artist. For the next nearly 15 years as I worked jobs at the post office, a ski mountain, an underground mine, and dispatching, that comment from my dad always stuck with me.
I hit a rough patch after I lost one of those jobs in 2022. I started to look into my future and what I really wanted in the long run. I decided to actually and finally do something other than a “regular” job and work toward this shoved-down dream of creating art for a living. Thus, began my tattoo journey.
I started learning to tattoo by myself after I reached out to a couple artists, who either turned my apprenticeship offers down or flat out stole from me once I started. Over the next 16 months, I tattooed many synthetic skins before moving onto my own legs and a couple family members. I had a coworker who was getting tattooed by a guy in town, and through him is how I met my mentor in early 2024. He was patient with me and helped me gain confidence, hone in my skills by letting me tattoo him, and taught me some ins and outs of the industry.
In May 2025, we opened a shop front in Red Lodge. So here we are, trying this new tattoo shop out! I’m so excited to tattoo clients and continue learning and growing in this artform. I can’t wait to get better and better. I’m excited to transfer from my regular job into this cool career, so let’s tattoo some baller pieces!
